One more day , one more night.

Our official last day together. Being in a long distance relationship, I know I’ve chosen to be in one of the most challenging and emotional journeys in my love life. Goodbyes may be temporary, but it still takes a lot out of a person, physical and especially emotion wise. How do we squeeze in over seven months of time apart into seven days? It feels like the week just started but already its coming to a close. The pain is starting to become visible, and I know in the back of my mind that the transition from being together to being apart will not come easy. We’ve said goodbye two times since this long distance love began, this will be the third - and it becomes harder every time to do so. I can only pray now that I could be strong and look forward to our next meeting. For today I want to make this a good day for the both of us and just forget about what’s to come tomorrow night.

Don’t stop chasing.

I think that one of the biggest reason why relationships do not work out in the long run is because at one point, one side (or both) stops trying. Before one claims another person as their significant other, they would do anything to make that person happy. They would chase, they would flirt, they would be charming. They would send daily morning and goodnight texts every time you wake up or go to sleep. They would write corny messages and pick up lines just to make sure that there is a smile upon your face. But once they claim you as theirs, all of those things eventually stop. The 5 page texts slowly turn into 1. The constant calls turn into not calling at all. And the lovely endearments turn into daily arguments. In order for a relationship to work, don’t ever stop chasing. Just because the person you want is now consider “yours”, it does not mean they deserve anything less than the time when you’re trying to win them over.
